SFTC 1/12/13

SFTC 1/12/13
  • Tottenham Hotspur Win @ QPR Win or Draw
To start off the day, we have an English Premier League matchup. QPR enters at the bottom of the table with 13 points and a goal differential of -19. Meanwhile, Tottenham enters ranked 3rd in the table with 39 points and a goal differential of 12.At home this year QPR is 1-4-5, which means they win this prop half the time. Meanwhile, Tottenham is 6-0-4 on the road this year, meaning they win this prop 60% of the time. However, this is a top team against a bottom team, so if they were consistently playing the bottom of the table it would be a higher percentage. Keep in mind QPR is coming off a great 1-0 win at Chelsea

My Pick: Tottenham Hotspur Win
Why: Although QPR played well in their last game, they are a very streaky team and I think Tottenham should easily win this game. Currently, Tottenham to win is favored at -125, while QPR win or draw is at +105. Expect a 1-0 or 2-1 win for the Totties.
  • Georgetown Hoyas
  • NC State Wolfpack @ Duke Blue Devils
Here we have an ACC matchup, as Duke will travel to NC State to play their first road game. Duke enters 15-0 and is as I just said, 0-0 on the road. Overall, they are able to score 79.3 points per game while allowing only 60.3. Meanwhile, NC State enters 13-2 and 9-0 at home. Their last loss came against Michigan 10 games ago. At home, they score an unbelievable 86.6 points per game, but allow at lot of points at 69.1.

My Pick: Duke Blue Devils (Suggested Pick)
Why: Not too much to say about this matchup, but Duke has been outstanding this year. I don't think they will let NC State end their run, and will take advantage of NC State's mediocre defense. It will most likely be a close game, but I don't think NC State will win. As I write this, the odds are favoring Duke by 3 to 4 points.
  • Clemson Tigers
  • Celta Vigo Win or Draw
  • Marquette Single Digit Loss or Win
  • Alabama Crimson Tide
  • Bordeaux Win or Draw
  • Butler Bulldogs @ Dayton Flyers
Here we have a matchup between 14th ranked Butler and unranked Dayton. Butler enters 13-2 with a 3-1 road record, the loss coming to Xavier. In their last 10, they are actually undefeated and have quality wins against Vandy on the road and Indiana in a neutral site. On the road, they play decent offense by scoring 65.2 points per game while allowing only 60.5. Meanwhile, Dayton enters 10-5 with a 7-2 home record. In their last 10, they are 6-4 while losing twice at home during that span. They average 72.6 points per game and only allow 61.6 points per game.

My Pick: Butler Bulldogs (Suggested Pick)
Why: They are favored by 1 point, and I think they will pull this one out. Dayton seems to be struggling of late while Butler is red hot, and I think Butler wins by about 5 in a close game.
  • Colorado Buffaloes
  • Texas Wins or Single Digit Loss
  • Florida State Seminoles
  • Oklahoma Sooners
  • Ravens Win or Single Digit Loss
  • 149 Yards or Fewer
  • Scott Langley
  • Broncos Score First TD
  • Saint Louis @ Temple Owls
In this matchup, Saint Louis will travel to Temple. Temple enters 10-4 and 6-1 at home. In their last 10 games, they are 6-4, and have lost their last two games on the road to Kansas and Xavier. At home, they score 71.3 points per game while only allowing 62.3. Meanwhile, Saint Louis enters 12-3 and 0-1 on the road. In their last 10, they are 9-1, with the only loss coming on the road to Washington. They are only able to score 61 points on the road while allowing an average of 66.

My Pick: Temple Owls (Suggested Pick)
Why: They are at home and are 4 point favorites. Also, Saint Louis obviously is not that good of a road team, so I think Temple easily pulls this one out.
