SFTC 8/17/12
Brandt Snedeker or Tie vs Jason Dufner
Snedeker will enter day 2 of the tournament after carding a 3 under score yesterday. In his last tournament before this, he missed the cut. He is currently ranked 23rd in the Fedex Cup rankings. Jason Dufner enters day 2 with a -2 score. He finished at +1 in his last tournament. He is ranked 3rd in the Fedex Cup rankings. On the back nine yesterday, Dufner was even while Snedeker was -1.

My Pick: Brandt Snedeker or Tie
Why: I like Snedeker here because he has the tie option. I think both golfers will card the same score and Snedeker will get the prop win.

FC Midtjylland  Win @ Aalborg Win or Draw
Here we have a matchup of two Danish Superliga teams. Midtjylland enters 2-1-2, good for 7 points. They are coming off a 2-1 loss on the road. Aalborg enters 2-2-1, good for 8 points, and are coming off a road win. Aalborg is currently favored at +150,  while Midtjylland comes in at +170 and the draw comes in at +240.

My Pick: Aalborg Win or Draw LOCK OF THE DAY

Ye Yang or Tie vs Gary Woodland
Yang will enter day 2 of the tournament with a -3 score. Woodland will come into day 2 even better than Yang, as he shot a 4 under score yesterday. In the current Fedex Cup standings, Woodland is ranked 130th while Yang is ranked 129th. Each player finished the PGA championship over par, but Yang did have a better score at +3 compared to Woodland's +4.

My Pick: Ye Yang or Tie
Why: Both golfers are basically the same skill level, and have displayed that throughout the season and yesterday. I have to give Yang the edge here because he has the tie option. Many argue that in an 18 hole course, a tie is an unusual outcome, but I would not be surprised at all here for these two golfers to tie today.

Estoril Win Or Draw @ Olhanense Win
Here we have our second soccer prop of the day in the Portuguese Liga. This is the opening match of the season for both teams. Last season, Estoril was in the Portugal League 2, and was promoted to the top league this year. Last year, Olhanense finished in the middle of the pack in 8th place.

My Pick: Estoril Win or Draw
Why: I have heard Olhanense lost a lot of their better players this offseason. Therefore, I like Estoril to prove themselves with a nice draw to open up the year.

Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees
Pitching Matchup:
Phil Hughes: 11-10, 4.44 ERA. Last Start: 4 IP, 7 ER. Home Stats: 8-3, 3.74 ERA.
Franklin Morales: 3-3, 3.29 ERA (mostly a relief pitcher). Last Start: 5.1 IP, 3 ER. Away Stats: 1-1, 1.86 ERA (again, mostly as a reliever)

Yankees: -141
Red Sox: +131

My Pick: New York Yankees

20 Games Or Fewer vs 21 Games Or More
Federer enters the match with the #1 seed in tennis. Mardy Fish will come into the match at #20. In 2011, Fish took Federer to 3 sets where Federer finally won the match. 4 of their last 6 matches have been under 20 games. Fish has a good serve, and the hard court surface is very easy to hold serve on.

My Pick: 21 Games Or More
Why: I think Fish will be able to force Federer to at least 1 tiebreaker and that will give him 13 games. Then all he has to do is hold serve twice in the next set.

Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens
Here we have some more preseason football. The Lions lost their first preseason game to the Browns, 19-17, while the Ravens won their first preseason game 31-17 against the Falcons. Although the Browns beat the Packers last night, I still think the Falcons are a better team than the Browns.

My Pick: Baltimore Ravens
Why: They have a great defense and the Lions will probably sub out their star offensive players after a few series. Then, the Ravens defense should take over and the Ravens offense should be good enough to score some points and win the game.

Pittsburgh Pirates @ St. Louis Cardinals
Pitching Matchup
James McDonald: 10-5, 3.77 ERA. Last Start: 4.1 IP, 7 ER. Since All Star Break: 1-2, 8.71 ERA. Away Stats: 5-2, 4.99 ERA.
Jake Westbrook: 12-8, 3.62 ERA. Last Start: 7.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 Hits. Since All Star Break: 5-1, 3.29 ERA. Home Stats: 7-3, 3.91 ERA.

My Pick: St. Louis Cardinals

Atlanta Dream @ Chicago Sky
Here we have a WNBA matchup. The Dream enter this matchup at 9-10 and the Sky enter at 8-9, so both teams have similar records. The Sky are 4-6 at home and the Dream are 4-6 on the road. The Dream score 77.3 PPG while the Sky score 74.9. However, the Sky allow less points per game, as they allow 75.1 PPG while the Sky allow 76.1 PPG. These teams have met twice, once in Atlanta and once in Chicago, and both games have been won by the Sky

My Pick: Chicago Sky
Why: These two teams seem evenly matched, however I have to give the advantage to the home team. Also, the Sky have won both previous matchups, which gives you even more reason to pick them.

Cleveland Indians @ Oakland Athletics
Pitching Matchup
Zach McAllister: 5-4, 3.46 ERA. Last Start: 8 IP, 2 ER. Since All Star Break: 2-3, 3.53 ERA. Away Stats: 2-2, 4.01 ERA.
Tommy Milone: 9-9, 3.91 ERA. Last Start: 6 IP, 6 ER. Since All Star Break: 1-3, 5.06  ERA. Home Stats: 5-2, 2.13 ERA.

My Pick: Oakland Athletics

Tampa Bay Rays @ Los Angeles Angels
Pitching Matchup
Jered Weaver: 15-2, 2.22 ERA. Last Start: 7 IP, 3 ER. Since All Star Break: 5-1, 2.83 ERA. Home Stats: 8-1, 1.23 ERA
James Shields: 10-7, 4.02 ERA. Last Start: 7 IP, 2 ER. Since All Star Break: 2-2, 3.59 ERA. Away Stats: 6-2, 3.94 ERA.

My Pick: Los Angeles Angels

Streak It Up Parlay of the Day: Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Angels
